Description
The Steel Tie Duct is designed to be a permanent replacement for the outlet duct used in gas and electric hot air track switch snow melter systems. Constructed of structural steel, the steel tie duct is intended to replace the "0" tie in a switch layout, and is available in either plain or galvanized steel versions. The unit can be equipped with point nozzles, center track ducts, and a switch rod duct as well.
Railway Equipment Company also offers a through-tie duct when logistical parameters require the switch heater to be located across more than one track. Straight and offset flexible ducting connect the two steel ties together, even if the two tracks are at different elevations.
